On Grief & Gratitude

Dad, through grief you taught me resilience. Like the love you gave me, I carry it with me now, always. You told me I’d always have you in my heart, and I told you it wasn’t enough. But I see now that we were both right.

It’s now been 13 years since I lost you, Dad. But 13 was your lucky number and you told me you didn’t want me mourning your death, but celebrating your life.

So today, I’m grateful. For your love and support, and your example. Thank you for always believing in me and helping me build the courage to do hard things.
